Curry house in line for award
The heat is on for an Ashford restaurant after it was shortlisted for the prestigious British Curry Awards.
Everest Inn in Station Road has been nominated as the Best Spice Restaurant in the South East after its customers rated the food second to naan.
The winners will be revealed at a ceremony next Monday, at Battersea Evolution in London.
Peoplec were invited to put forward nominations for their favourite Indian restaurant and award organisers received more than 200,000 responses from across the UK by post, app and online.
The popular Nepalese restaurant chain, which also has a restaurant in Hythe, is one of 2,641 restaurants nominated out of 10,000 in the country.
Jeeb Pandey, manager, said: “We have full confidence that we should be able to win but it is also an honour that we’ve been nominated. We won’t know until the final moment which is every exciting. We are really looking forward to the ceremony. We are very grateful to everyone who nominated us.”
