Ap­peal for wit­nesses af­ter man at­tacked in night­club

A man was taken to hos­pi­tal af­ter he was bot­tled in an Ash­ford night­club.

The 23-year-old vic­tim was wash­ing his hands in the toi­lets of Cameo in Sta­tion Road when he was hit on the back of the head by a man hold­ing a glass bot­tle.

He held his arms over his head to pro­tect him­self, but was hit on the arm. He suf­fered cuts to his head, arm and back.

The at­tack took place at 2am on Tues­day, Au­gust 18, but de­tails have only just been re­leased as po­lice ap­peal for wit­nesses.

The sus­pect is de­scribed as a white man who was wear­ing a long-sleeved white T-shirt.

Det Con Michael Sed­den said: “The sus­pect was not known to the vic­tim although it’s re­ported there was a dis­pute ear­lier in the night be­tween the sus­pect and the vic­tim’s friend.

“We want to thank the wit­nesses we have al­ready spo­ken to and would urge any­one who hasn’t come for­ward and saw ei­ther the as­sault in the toi­lets or the ear­lier in­ci­dent, to get in touch on 01843 222289.”
