Man found in­jured still in crit­i­cal con­di­tion

A man who was found with se­ri­ous head in­juries in a road in Mer­sham is still in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion in hos­pi­tal.

Gary Lang­ham, who is in his 40s and from Folke­stone, was found ly­ing in Bower Road on Sun­day, Au­gust 23 af­ter a sus­pected hit and run.

It is be­lieved he was dis­cov­ered by a trac­tor driver at about 7am be­fore he was rushed to King’s Col­lege Hos­pi­tal, in Lon­don, where he re­mains in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

Po­lice ar­rested a 21-year-old man on sus­pi­cion of caus­ing se­ri­ous in­jury by dan­ger­ous driv­ing the fol­low­ing Tues­day.

The ar­rest came days af­ter launch­ing an ap­peal to trace the oc­cu­pants of two cars be­lieved to be in the area at the time.

The man from Mer­sham has not yet been charged and has been re­leased on po­lice bail un­til Septem­ber 23 while in­quiries con­tinue.

Of­fi­cers are still ap­peal­ing for any­one with in­for­ma­tion about the in­ci­dent to get in touch.
