Wrong place to site car-repair works

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Points Of View -

I am going to oppose the change of use at Wye Court Farm (‘Village application is unacceptable’, KE August 13).

The present B1 use allows offices, research and development, and light industrial use appropriate to the residential area.

This, I presume, does not permit motorvehicle repair and servicing.

B2 use, I understand, allows all other industrial uses, which opens up all sorts of potential uses. This cannot be appropriate for this site, and would bring all sorts of vehicles and traffic to this quiet corner of Wye.

In addition, consideration should be given to the ever-growing Wye School, whose pupils will be at risk from the traffic in the approach road, Olantigh Road.

I do agree that extra employment opportunities should be created in Wye, but only within the current B1 usage. Ernst Emmerich Cherry Garden Lane, Wye
