Pedes­trian is killed on M20

Wit­nesses are be­ing sought af­ter a man was killed on the M20 in Ash­ford.

Po­lice were called to the coast­bound car­riage­way of the mo­tor­way, close to junction 10, on Satur­day at 12.30am fol­low­ing re­ports a pedes­trian had been hit by a lorry.

Paramedics at­tended but 49-year-old Carl John Wil­liams, from Dover, was de­clared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been in­formed.

It is not known why the man was on the mo­tor­way, but it un­der­stood he walked down the slip road at junction 10 onto the main car­riage­way.

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for any­one with in­for­ma­tion to come for­ward.

They are keen to speak to any­one who saw ei­ther the man or the lorry prior to the col­li­sion.

The man was wear­ing blue denim jeans and a blue jacket.

The lorry was a white Mercedes Ac­tros.
