Don’t forget to cover up for winter

I like the design for the new Designer Outlet extension, but with the way our weather is I hope they have a glass -covered area over the outside eating places. I can imagine sitting there, then all of a sudden down comes the rain.

The artist’s impression shows it is an ideal design for say California, where the sun always shines – but Ashford?

Not so much and I can’t imagine people wanting to shop there in the winter. The roof levels are the same both sides, so if they build a steel structure like they have in County Square and added glass with openings, then you would have all year shopping.

It’s a pity I’m retired as I remember when I was part of the construction of the first section of the outlet. It would have been good to have been part of the extension. Freddie Clements Ashford
