Shoplifter stole meat and wine

A Hoth­field man is be­hind bars af­ter ad­mit­ting steal­ing meat from a su­per­mar­ket and wine from a petrol sta­tion. Robert Stephen Bishop, 28, of Beech Drive pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplift­ing when he ap­peared at Folke­stone Mag­is­trates’ Court on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 2. On July 28, Bishop stole wine worth £30.56 from a petrol sta­tion in Beaver Road, Ash­ford and on July 31 he stole meat worth £45.06 from a Can­ter­bury su­per­mar­ket. Mag­is­trates sen­tenced him to 14 days in prison and or­dered him to pay a £150 crim­i­nal courts charge and an £80 vic­tim sur­charge.
