A great show of community spirit

-

Hundreds of people attended a community fun day run by Tesco Park Farm.

It took place on Sunday, a day free of rain for the first time in weeks, at Kingsnorth playing fields off Church Road.

Pony rides, a dance show, a raffle and games helped to raise £908.75 for the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

Marie Russell, the store’s community champion, said: “It was a huge success, we believe that 300 or more people attended and the weather was this time glorious.

“The amount raised shows we have such an amazing community.”

The fun day was attended by Ashford Deputy Mayor George Koowaree and Deputy Mayoress Gloria Champion.
