Parents alerted by school’s text

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Calls For Vigilance -

Following the four latest offences, parents of children at The John Wesley Primary School, which is close to where Sunday’s two incidents took place, were sent texts advising them to be extra vigilant.

One message said: “Due to an incident nearby at the weekend, please be extra careful bringing and taking your children to/from school, thank you.”

A second text said: “Further to our previous text, a man exposed himself to teenage girls at the weekend at a local bus stop, police are aware.”

A parent, who wished to remain anonymous but who received the messages, has now spoken of her concerns.

She said: “As a mum it’s really frightening that this is happening locally.

“Kids should be allowed their independence without the threats.

“I have to admit, I’m glad my children are too young to walk to school on their own yet, but hopefully by making people aware of what’s happening it will allow parents to keep their kids safe. Let’s hope he’s caught soon.”
