Man killed in M20 ac­ci­dent is named

The man who died af­ter be­ing hit by a lorry on the M20 has been named as Carl John Wil­liams, who lived in Dover.

Po­lice were called to the coast­bound car­riage­way at junction 10 near Ash­ford just af­ter 12.30am on Septem­ber 5. Paramedics also at­tended but Mr Wil­liams, 49, of Rokesley Road, was de­clared dead at the scene.

His body was iden­ti­fied by his step­fa­ther.

A post-mortem was car­ried out, which showed he had died of mul­ti­ple in­juries.

An in­quest into his death was opened on Wed­nes­day of last week at Folke­stone Mag­is­trates’ Court by as­sis­tant coro­ner for Cen­tral and South East Kent Chris­tine Freedman.

Po­lice are still ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses and want to speak to any­one who saw ei­ther Mr Wil­liams or the lorry, a white Mercedes Ac­tros, prior to the col­li­sion.
