World pre­miere

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Operation Stack Solution? -

Pupils will join pro­fes­sional singers, dancers and mu­si­cians in per­for­mances of a world pre­miere cel­e­brat­ing the strange world of the Broth­ers Grimm at St Mary’s – Ash­ford’s parish church.

Grimm Tales has been writ­ten by David Horne, one of the world’s lead­ing com­posers, and fea­tures nar­ra­tion by Matthew Sharp and mu­sic from Cham­ber Do­maine. It will con­ducted by Thomas Kemp, and danc­ing from mem­bers of the English Na­tional Bal­let.

Spon­sored by Sound­hub, the mu­sic ed­u­ca­tion hub for Kent, the con­certs will be held at St Mary’s next Wed­nes­day and at St Mary’s Church in West Malling the day be­fore. Each venue hosts per­for­mances at 10.45am and 1.45pm.

The con­certs are the cul­mi­na­tion of work­shops across Kent en­gag­ing hun­dreds of chil­dren with mu­sic and bal­let. Schools tak­ing part in­clude Ham­street Pri­mary School and Fur­ley Park Pri­mary School, Ash­ford.
