Pupils will join professional singers, dancers and musicians in performances of a world premiere celebrating the strange world of the Brothers Grimm at St Mary’s – Ashford’s parish church.
Grimm Tales has been written by David Horne, one of the world’s leading composers, and features narration by Matthew Sharp and music from Chamber Domaine. It will conducted by Thomas Kemp, and dancing from members of the English National Ballet.
Sponsored by Soundhub, the music education hub for Kent, the concerts will be held at St Mary’s next Wednesday and at St Mary’s Church in West Malling the day before. Each venue hosts performances at 10.45am and 1.45pm.
The concerts are the culmination of workshops across Kent engaging hundreds of children with music and ballet. Schools taking part include Hamstreet Primary School and Furley Park Primary School, Ashford.
