Driver rescued from smash
A man was rescued from a car after a two-vehicle smash in Willesborough. Fire crews, police and paramedics were called to the Crowbridge Link, close to the junction with Boys Hall Road, at about 11.30pm last Wednesday. Two cars – a silver Mercedes and a black Ford Fiesta – had crashed, leaving one man trapped. Fire-fighters removed the roof of one of the cars to release the man. He was taken to hospital with chest and head injuries not believed to be lifethreatening. The other man, in his 30s, was treated for spinal injuries and taken to the William Harvey Hospital. Fire crews were at the scene until 12.40am and the road was cleared by 2am.
