Ash­ford Ar­chae­o­log­i­cal and His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety’s new sea­son of talks opens with a visit by a for­mer Sec­ond World War pi­lot. Henry Shack­le­ton, who flew Lan­cast­ers as a Pathfinder pi­lot in the war and spent a year and half as a pris­oner of war will be talk­ing about his life next Mon­day from 7.30pm in the Quaker Meet­ing House, Al­bert Road, Ash­ford. All are very welcome. Mem­ber­ship of the so­ci­ety is £10 per year for nine meet­ings, or visi­tors are charged £3 per meet­ing.
