Four crashes de­lay driv­ers on mo­tor­way

Driv­ers faced de­lays af­ter four crashes in three days along the M20.

At around 8.15am on Mon­day, a lane of the Lon­don­bound car­riage­way be­came blocked be­tween junction 9 for Ash­ford and junction 8 for Leeds Castle af­ter a car spun.

No one was hurt and the lane was closed for an hour while the car was re­moved and de­bris cleared.

Two crashes caused more mis­ery on Tues­day.

Be­tween junc­tions 8 and 9, lane one of the coast-bound car­riage­way was blocked af­ter a crash in­volv­ing one car at 7.50am. Another crash, again in­volv­ing just one car, hap­pened along the same stretch 10 min­utes later.

Emer­gency ser­vices at­tended both. No se­ri­ous in­juries were re­ported.

The crashes came af­ter Kent woke up to heavy rain on Tues­day morn­ing, and roads across the county suf­fered flood­ing.

A car and lorry col­lided yesterday morn­ing (Wed­nes­day) on the Lon­don­bound car­riage­way be­tween junc­tions 9 and 8.

Although no se­ri­ous in­juries were re­ported, the crash caused de­lays dur­ing the rush hour.
