ASHFORD bbs DEAL & b 3rds Jason Potter and Tom Bartlett scored two tries each as the Barbarians eased to a comfortable Shepherd Neame Dragon 4 East win at Sandyacres on Saturday. They made a strong start, with full-back Potter putting them in front after the ball went blind from the breakdown. Captain Ben King powered his way through tackles for another and second-row Guy Booker stretched the lead further, after peeling away from a maul. New No.8 Harry Bull also made an impact for the Barbarians, recycling a spilt ball from the backs, before storming through the Lions’ defence. The second half provided little respite for Bettes, with Potter getting his second try, following a five-metre scrum. Fly-half Bartlett then added to his first-half score, gathering a loose pass, with his quick feet getting him over the line. The Barbarians are at home again on Saturday, with Hastings & Bexhill the visitors at Sandyacres.
