Youngsters celebrate top season at awards night
Boughton & Eastwell won the Ashford & District under-17 league with the same points as Rye but had a better runs against wickets ratio.
Isaac Carney, of B&E, won the batting prize, with Kieran Nash of Kennington picking up the bowling proze.
Ashford were under-15 champions, ahead of runners-up Rolvenden
Jack Hardy and Harry Lambourn, of Great Chart, were leading batsman and bowler. B&E were under-13s runnersup behind Rye. Freddie MacKenzie, of Rye, was the leading batter, with the bowlers’ award shared between Sarwan Thind (Mersham), Max Arter (Wye), Harry Watson (Great Chart), and Ben Oaten (Rolvenden) all taking eight wickets.
Mersham were under-11 winners, finishing unbeaten, with Kennington runnersup.
Mersham trio Adam Brient (batting) and R Coleman and Shameer Malik (bowling) completed a club clean sweep,
New development officer David Stafford presented the trophies.
