Choirs invited to summer competition
Choirs from across the county are being invited to sign up to take part in a competition this summer.
Equator Music’s Choir Festival 2016 is seeking amateur, school and community choirs in Kent and Medway to perform at the Norton Knatchbull School in Hythe Road, Ashford, on Thursday, June 30 and Friday, July 8.
Organised by world music com- pany ShivaNova, the competition is part of the Equator Festival Music Series 2016.
The choir must have a minimum of 12 singers and be available to perform on the two dates.
Applicants must submit an application form with a list of three songs, one of which must be from another country or culture.
Each performance must not be longer than 15 minutes.
Choirs wishing to take part must email their details as soon as possible to email@example.com.
Also, female singers, women choirs or mixed groups performing compositions by women are invited to take part in the Women of the World concert.
Equator will be showcasing young talent this summer but is looking for the female-focused line up in a range of genres including pop, world, folk, jazz or classical.
It is free to take part and the festival takes place on Saturday, October 1 and Saturday October 22 this year.
