Col­leagues hop­ing they can han­dle the heat for hospice

Brave co-work­ers are pre­par­ing to face the flames in aid of the Pil­grims Hospice.

Six col­leagues from Hol­i­day Ex­tras, based near Hythe, will walk bare­foot walk over red-hot em­bers of 800 de­grees for the char­ity’s Fire­walk fundraiser.

They are hop­ing to raise £1,000 for the hospice, which pro­vides end-of-life care at its branches in Ash­ford, Thanet and Can­ter­bury.

Anouk Agus­sol, head of peo­ple for Hol­i­day Ex­tras, said: “The hospice is a cause that is close to so many peo­ple’s hearts.

“We do ev­ery­thing we can to sup­port Pil­grims be­cause it has been there for many of us when we have lost some­one.

“They re­ally of­fer amaz­ing care for lo­cal fam­i­lies who need it.”

The Fire­walk will be held on Fri­day, March 4, at the firm’s grounds in New­ingreen.

The evening starts with a two- hour in­ter­ac­tive train­ing sem­i­nar with renowned mo­ti­va­tional speaker and fire­walk­ing ex­pert Cliff Mann, who has safely guided thou­sands of peo­ple through this ex­pe­ri­ence.

The sup­port­ers will then head out­side to for the walk, while friends and fam­ily gather around for sup­port.

“We’re all re­ally look­ing for­ward to the day,” adds Anouk.

“I’m an ac­tive per­son and a bit of an adrenaline junkie so I have done skydives and lots of other chal­lenges and this is some­thing dif­fer­ent that’s al­ways been on my bucket list – it’s a great way to get peo­ple in­volved.”
