Staff cook up a thank-you treat
Volunteers for the Pilgrims Hospice received a special thank you at a lunch in Ashford.
More than 130 people were invited to the meal, provided by staff from Tesco Crooksfoot, off Hythe Road.
The lunch was a way to say thank you to everyone who gives their time to help run the hospice, which provides end of life care for people in east Kent.
Also there were Ann Robertson, hospices founder, and service manager Wendy Kelk, who thanked staff from Tesco, and said: “It’s great to have such fantastic support from our neighbours.”
Mary Daly, community champion at the store, added: “It’s good for the volunteers to see that their hard work is appreciated.
“I have volunteered myself, and I know a thank you is as good as a pay packet.”
