Offshore lorry park the perfect solution
The obvious solution to the Operation Stack lorry park problem would be to reclaim an area in the English Channel off the port of Dover.
Okay, it would be expensive and maybe upset the odd seagull, but the idea worked with the spoil from the Channel Tunnel, and think of the financial savings without all the ongoing protests.
Hong Kong built an airport runway offshore but our government and MPs etc would prefer to upset locals with their idea of having a lorry park in an area of green countryside.
It could even be tied in with the expansion of Dover Docks.
