Store’s Christmas book gifts delight preschool children

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Nuts & Bolts -

Youngsters at Little Ark Preschool in Singleton were delighted to receive a box of children’s books.

Sainsbury’s Bybrook donated 40 of its very own book, Mog’s Christmas Calamity, to the Wesley School Road preschool.

The book was part of the store’s Christmas advertising campaign, which shows Mog the cat save Christmas after wrecking its owners’ home.

The advert was hugely popular when it reached screens in November and Sainsbury’s Mog toys sold out in days.

Sue Oliver, Sainsbury’s spokesman, said: “The profits from the book were donated to improve child literacy so we wanted to do our bit too.

“We donated a few boxes to other schools and some to the Padua ward at the William Harvey Hospital.

“The children were all able to take one home.”
