Conservation groups joined forces to make way for butterflies at Wye Downs.

Many Hands, Wild Wye, Mass Success, Call Of The Wild, Wild Crew and High Up At Wye pooled their weekly task groups to clear the National Nature Reserve on Tuesday, January 19.

Wye Downs, which is managed by Natural England, is an excellent place for butterflies thanks to its flora and fauna, but volunteers made sure the area was well maintained.

Jadie Baker, leader of Wild Crew, said: “I find it inspiring that so many people gave their time to work on this special site, but if they are anything like me they do it to be outside, for the sense of achievement and for the fun of working with likeminded folk.

“Also, the view from the top of the Devil’s Kneading Trough and out to Romney Marsh has got to be one of the best views in Kent.”
