Matthew Kershaw joins the trust on £215,000 a year. His predecessor’s salary was £170,000.
The trust oversees five hospitals – The Kent and Canterbury, William Harvey, QEQM in Margate, Buckland in Dover and Folkestone’s Royal Victoria.
More than 750,000 people across Canterbury, Thanet, Dover, Shepway and Ashford are served by the trust.
The trust has more than 1,000 beds, including 27 critical care beds and 67 children’s beds.
200,000 emergency attendances are dealt with by the trust every year.
