Having a ball for charities
A grateful Ashford family have thanked the scores of people who supported their charity fundraising ball held at the Ashford International Hotel last Friday night.
The grand ball night raised an incredible £6,000 to be split between two charities.
The event at the Simone Weil Avenue hotel was attended by 280 people and included a dinner, disco, live music, a raffle, tombola, and magic.
It was organised by Martin Kemp in honour of his mum Jean, who was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time last year, and who turned 60 in January.
He described it as an incredible evening that will see the money raised shared between the Pilgrims Hospice, where Mrs Kemp is currently being cared for, and Cancer Research UK.
