Le­gal ea­gles give back­ing to big trek

Le­gal pro­fes­sion­als are switch­ing pa­per trails for scenic treks as they show­case sup­port for a char­ity walk.

Gul­lands solic­i­tors are en­cour­ag­ing res­i­dents across the district to take part in the KM Char­ity Walk, which cel­e­brates its 21st birth­day this year.

Mar­i­anne Webb, of Gul­lands, said: “We have a long tra­di­tion of sup­port­ing lo­cal char­i­ties, and be­ing in­volved in this mile­stone an­niver­sary of the walk is greatly sat­is­fy­ing.”

Book­ing is now open for the Spec­savers- sup­ported walk which takes place on Sun­day, June 26.

Walk­ers can choose a 10-mile or a five-mile trek which both start at the Grade II listed man­sion Mote House, Maid­stone, and goes through to Leeds Cas­tle.

All en­trants will re­ceive a lim­ited edi­tion medal for their achieve­ments, as well as a goody bag and a bar­be­cue upon re­turn.

Sophie Wal­lace, events man­ager at the KM Char­ity Team which or­gan­ises the event, said: “In 2015, 400 walk­ers took part and raised a stag­ger­ing £20,000 for good causes. We aim to build on this suc­cess and look for­ward to see­ing plenty of new faces as well as re­turn­ing ones.”

Book­ing is charged at £11.50 per adult and chil­dren un­der 16 go free. Walk­ers are en­cour­aged to gain spon­sor­ship for their ram­ble.
