Baker takes on Castle challenge
Richard Baker finished 52nd out of a field of 350 at the Hadleigh Legacy 10k in Essex on Sunday.
The Ashford & District Road Running Club member, followed up his strong run in the Canterbury 10 the previous week, crossing the line in 51.49.
The race was a test of stamina and endurance on a hilly and muddy off-road course around the grounds of Hadleigh Castle, venue for the mountain bike event at the London 2012 Olympics.
The club was again well represented in the latest Ashford parkrun on Saturday. Chris Boyce was first man home, fourth in 18.45, with Paul Moses next in 18.56.
Scott Lynch was seventh (19.02), Pat Butler 11th (20.15), Richard Baker 19th in 22.10 with Andrew Smith home in 29.57.
Christine Costiff was third lady home in 21.36, one place ahead of Gill Pragnell (21.48). Danyel Gilles and Rhian Shrimpton both produced personal bests to finish sixth (22.50) and eighth (23.07) respectively. Lisa Bracken was 18th in 27.20, Anne Healy also raced to a PB, 21st lady home in 28.07).
