Forster in rich vein of form
NRG Gym Kent County League
Matt Forster’s third goal in two games and a Harry Stow effort made it back-to-back Premier Division victories for Kennington, who won 2-0 against Fleetdown United at Dartford on Saturday. Kennington Reserves will continue playing in the competition after two long-serving club members stepped in to prevent the team folding. Keith Rice and Brad Russell have ensured the team will be able to fulfil their fixtures, beginning with Saturday’s Les Leckie Cup second round home tie against Sheppey United Reserves. Club chairman Graham Oxley said last week the club had been given notice to withdraw but that has now be rescinded by the league. Jack Ovenden and Beckim Ahmetaj netted as Division 3 East leaders Willesborough drew 2-2 against the University of Kent. Meanwhile, first-team manager Lee James has taken over as club chairman, part of a new-look committee, following Craig King’s decision to step down.
