Welcome arrival from train firm
Volunteers from the Central Ashford Community Forum were presented with a cheque for £1,000 by rail firm Hitachi.
Depot fleet manager Nigel King and community relations manager Sue Billington visited the community forum to hand over the money.
The company opened its depot in Ashford 10 years ago to service the Javelin high speed trains which now operate in Kent. Community forum co-chairman Jo Jowers said: “We were delighted to receive this generous support from Hitachi. We intend to spend it on projects to boost the quality of life for the community in central Ashford.”
