The offenders had fled the scene and the police helicopter was called in to help search the area.

Three men were caught and arrested in connection to the incident, and were held in custody.

He was remanded and is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on March 11.

A 33-year-old man from Larkfield and a 21-year-old man from Maidstone were both arrested on suspicion of burglary and both bailed until Wednesday, May 4.

The aircraft was spotted circling the town following calls from residents in Loudon Way on Ashford’s Godinton Park estate that a man was damaging cars at around 8pm.

The man reportedly left the scene on a bicycle.
