‘Scurrilous’ deal claim rejected

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Points Of View -

Cllr Winston Michael in his letter about proposed housing in Kennington (‘Prime land must be saved from homes’, KE, February 11) criticises Kennington Community Forum (KCF). saying they “should be at the forefront of this so why is their voice nowhere to be heard?”

He goes on to state: “Residents wonder whether a deal was struck with council leaders in order to obtain ‘parishing’.”

Cllr Michael will surely recall that KCF hosted two public planning workshops in 2014 which gave all residents an opportunity to comment on the sites submitted for consideration in the Local Plan to 2030.

Our evidence-based report to ABC reflected the strong opposition of residents
