Support group’s Lottery windfall
A group which helps people with early dementia has been awarded more than £5,000 from The Big Lottery Fund.
It is one of 48 organisations to benefit fram a lottery payout of more than £1.5 million to help groups in the South East to improve local communities and the lives of people most in need.
East Kent Elderflowerings will use the £5,410 funding to provide fortnightly workshops for people with early dementia.
This will enable the organisation to provide personalised social activities for the beneficiaries that will integrate them into larger groups where they are supported by their peers and staff.
This project will alleviate concerns regarding social isolation and it will reduce the stigmas associated with dementia.
