Take a walk for air am­bu­lance

Res­i­dents across the district are in­vited to put on their hik­ing boots and take part in a char­ity walk.

Kent, Sur­rey and Sus­sex Air Am­bu­lance pro­vide peo­ple from ev­ery walk of life with vi­tal air­borne aid ev­ery year.

In 2016, the char­ity has teamed up with the KM Char­ity Team to pro­mote the KM Char­ity Walk and to el­e­vate their fundrais­ing.

Brid­get Pep­per, of Kent, Sur­rey and Sus­sex Air Am­bu­lance, said: “We are de­lighted to have joined forces with KM for this fan­tas­tic event. It pro­vides peo­ple across the county with the per­fect way to sup­port the vi­tal and life­sav­ing ser­vice we sup­ply.”

Book­ing is now open for the Spec­savers and Gul­lands- sup­ported walk which cel­e­brates its 21st an­niver­sary on Sun­day, June 26.

Walk­ers can choose a five or 10 mile trek which leads them from Grade II Ge­or­gian man­sion Mote House to Leeds Cas­tle, Maid­stone.

A gar­den party com­plete with live mu­sic and a bar­be­cue will wel­come par­tic­i­pants upon re­turn.

All en­trants will also be pre­sented with a lim­ited edi­tion medal and goody bag for their ef­forts.

Sophie Wal­lace, events man­ager at the KM Char­ity Team, said: “In 2015, 400 walk­ers took part and raised a stag­ger­ing £20,000 for good causes. We aim to build on this suc­cess in June and look for­ward to see­ing plenty of new faces as well as re­turn­ing ones.”

Book­ing is charged at £11.50 per adult and chil­dren un­der 16 go free. Walk­ers are en­cour­aged to gain spon­sor­ship for their ram­ble.
