Loco hit the top with six games to go
Danny Taylor headed home the winning goal for AFC Locomotive five minutes from time, as they went top of the Premier Division with a 3-2 home win against Hamstreet.
Loco lead the way at the top, moving one point ahead of previous leaders Market Hotel with just six games to play.
Victory for Locomotive saw them extend their two-year unbeaten league sequence to an incredible 32 matches, with their last defeat coming against Troggs Reserves in March, 2014.
Hamstreet, losing for the first time themselves in the league since October, pushed the pub side all of the way.
Loco took the lead early on when Liam Whiting headed in from Danny Taylor’s cross but Hamstreet levelled before half-time with Bradley Burton scoring his 11th goal of the season.
The home side created several good chances at the start of the secondhalf and regained the lead when Robbie Greenfield curled home a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area after Tom Scorer was fouled.
But Hamstreet hit back again to make it 2-2 when Adam Mercer headed home unchallenged from a Street corner.
Both t eams battled hard looking for the winning goal but it was Taylor who completed the job, heading the winner for Loco in the 85th minute from Greenfield’s cross.
