Report shows drop in anti-social behaviour

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Crackdown On Anti-social Behaviour At Estate -

Although two dispersal orders were placed on areas in Ashford last week, figures show that the town “has the lowest volume of reported anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the county”.

A report due to be discussed at Ashford council’s overview and scrutiny committee on Tuesday revealed that in the last year the “number of incidents of ASB reported to police for the borough decreased by 643 incidents” compared to the previous year.

This equates to a 35% decrease in incidents in 2014/15 compared to 2013/14.

The report, compiled by the Community Safety Partnership, adds: “While it is impressive to have the lowest ASB figures in Kent, there were still 1,207 reported incidents and each incident has an impact on our communities. Our partners will continue to work together to try and reduce this further.”

An update on the meeting will appear in the Kentish Express next week
