‘Problems are not the norm around here’
Ashford borough councillor for Stanhope, Brendan Chilton (Lab), said the incidents did not reflect the area as a whole.
“The Dispersal Order has been put in place as a temporary measure,” he said.
“These problems are focused on one or two houses in one part of the community.
“The police and other authorities are dealing with those involved.
“This is an exceptional case as crime, and anti-social behaviour has dramatically reduced in Stanhope over the past few years and I am confident this will continue.”
