Young quintet win applause at Albert Hall
The Verano Quintet produced an outstanding performance at the Royal Albert Hall last Friday after winning a performance award at the finals of the National Festival of Music for Youth in Birmingham last July.
The quintet gave a 60-minute recital in the venue’s Verdi restaurant as part of a series of lunchtime concerts performed by highly talented ensembles.
The group, classical guitarists Adam Young, Philip Scott-Moore, Ben Uden, Richard Williams and violinist Emanuel Webb, all attend Norton Knatchbull or Highworth schools.
David Green, their musical director and guitar teacher, said they had to take three bows at the end having received enthusiastic applause.
