Young quin­tet win ap­plause at Al­bert Hall

The Ver­ano Quin­tet pro­duced an out­stand­ing per­for­mance at the Royal Al­bert Hall last Fri­day af­ter win­ning a per­for­mance award at the fi­nals of the Na­tional Fes­ti­val of Mu­sic for Youth in Birm­ing­ham last July.

The quin­tet gave a 60-minute recital in the venue’s Verdi restau­rant as part of a se­ries of lunchtime con­certs per­formed by highly tal­ented en­sem­bles.

The group, clas­si­cal gui­tarists Adam Young, Philip Scott-Moore, Ben Uden, Richard Wil­liams and vi­o­lin­ist Emanuel Webb, all at­tend Nor­ton Knatch­bull or High­worth schools.

David Green, their mu­si­cal di­rec­tor and gui­tar teacher, said they had to take three bows at the end hav­ing re­ceived en­thu­si­as­tic ap­plause.
