Highways authorities are aiming to tackle potholes but, despite an almost frost-free winter, they don’t seem to be getting on top of the problem.
To speed up their operations they decided to make use of modern technology where the public are encouraged to go online to report any holes they may see.
Such are the wonders of modern technology. But even computers and technology have their limitations. There is plenty of evidence out and about to show that their system is not working.
We have more and more holes appearing in our roads. There is no substitute for getting out of their cosy offices, grabbing a shovel and being prepared to get one’s hands dirty. Ted Prangnell, Kennington
