Registration for children to take September’s Kent Test opened this week.

Parents can now register for their children to take the test which will allow them to be considered for a place in a Kent Grammar school.

The test will be held after the summer holidays on September 8 for children at a Kent primary school and on September 10 for pupils outside the county.

Children must be resident in the UK and expect to start secondary school in September 2017.

The deadline for registrations is Friday, July 1.

Roger Gough, Kent County Council cabinet member for education said: “Any parent considering a grammar school for their child needs to register for them to take the test.

“We are particularly keen to encourage pupils eligible for free school meals to register and sit the test as more grammar schools move to include priority for these learners.”

To register online, log on to www.kent.gov.uk/ola. Alternatively a paper copy of the test registration form can be downloaded from the here, picked up from primary schools, or sent to you by post on request – call 03000 41 21 21 or email kent.admissions@ kent.gov.uk
