Dragon Boat Race is the big­gest one yet

The KM Dragon Boat Race has now of­fi­cially sold out.

The record-break­ing chal­lenge event has sur­passed last year’s fig­ure by 10 mak­ing this the big­gest year in its his­tory.

Sixty boats, with up to 17 row­ers in each, have been booked ahead of the Sun­day, July 3 char­ity fundraiser at Mote Park, Maid­stone.

Kent Re­liance – a long-serv­ing sup­porter of the event – is thrilled by the suc­cess. Polly Vic­cars of Kent Re­liance, said: “We are ab­so­lutely de­lighted to be tak- ing part in the Dragon Boat Race once again – it’s such a bril­liant chal­lenge event.”.

She added: “Last year the race raised £100,000 for good causes across the county, and we are re­ally hop­ing to smash this fig­ure in 2016.”

Teams take part in a min­i­mum of three races and 100% of money raised will go to­wards par­tic­i­pants’ cho­sen char­i­ties.
