Game tribute to colleague
Rail engineers will compete in a charity football game in memory of a much-loved colleague who died from a heart condition. Kevin Herron, right, worked for Southeastern as an engineer for 11 years before he tragically died in March this year. The 47-year-old worked at Ramsgate but lived in Ashford, so colleagues from Southeastern will be playing a game in his honour at the Homelands Stadium in Kingsnorth on Saturday. Engineering apprentice and organiser Jonathan Moore said: “This is a fantastic way to remember our dear colleague and friend and raise money for good causes that Kevin was passionate about.” they will play for the Kevin Herron Memorial Trophy and the game is open to the public, with donations on the gate to go towards the British Heart Foundation and for Help for Heroes. Kick off will be at 2pm at the ground on Saturday, June 4.
