Man in court over death of 51-year-old

A 38-year-old man ac­cused of mur­der­ing Lee Walden, whose body was dis­cov­ered in a block of flats in Ken­ning­ton, has ap­peared at Maid­stone Crown Court.

Dar­ren McKay, of Bee­cholme Drive, was not asked to en­ter a plea dur­ing the brief hear­ing.

He is ac­cused of killing Mr Walden, 51, be­tween May 15 and 17, when his body was found in a ground floor flat in Cherry Tree House.

Po­lice were called to the flats in By­brook Road on May 17. Mr Walden was be­lieved to have suf­fered head in­juries.

McKay and a 32-year-old woman from Ash­ford were ar­rested later that day. The woman has been bailed un­til June 16.

McKay was re­manded in cus­tody and will re­turn to court to en­ter a plea on June 17. A pre­lim­i­nary trial date was set for Novem­ber 28.
