Driver fined for being twice limit
An Ashford man has been slapped with a hefty fine for drink-driving after being caught nearly twice the legal limit.
Darren Nelson Prince, 31, of Birling Road, gave a breath test of 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was caught was caught in a Honda Civic on May 11 in Osbourne Road. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Appearing before Canterbury magistrates, Prince was ordered to pay a £350 fine, £85 costs and a £35 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for 18 months.
