Climb tower to ap­pre­ci­ate open gar­dens

Vis­i­tors are be­ing in­vited to stun­ning gar­dens in Smar­den this week­end when the vil­lage stages its an­nual open gar­dens event.

As well as gar­dens open­ing to the pub­lic there will be a dis­play of classic cars and the op­por­tu­nity to climb the church tower to ap­pre­ci­ate the beauty of the 11 gar­dens tak­ing part.

Home­made teas will be served in the gar­den of the Dragon House, where vis­i­tors can also stroll around The West End Art Gallery and the vin­tage shop.

All proceeds will go to­wards the main­te­nance of the vil­lage’s 14th cen­tury church. The gar­dens will be open from 1pm-6pm on both Satur­day and Sun­day.

Tick­ets cost £8 on the day or £7 in ad­vance. Chil­dren go free. Tick­ets can be bought from Smar­den Post Of­fice or the West End House Gallery. For more in­for­ma­tion call 01233 770182.
