Climb tower to appreciate open gardens
Visitors are being invited to stunning gardens in Smarden this weekend when the village stages its annual open gardens event.
As well as gardens opening to the public there will be a display of classic cars and the opportunity to climb the church tower to appreciate the beauty of the 11 gardens taking part.
Homemade teas will be served in the garden of the Dragon House, where visitors can also stroll around The West End Art Gallery and the vintage shop.
All proceeds will go towards the maintenance of the village’s 14th century church. The gardens will be open from 1pm-6pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets cost £8 on the day or £7 in advance. Children go free. Tickets can be bought from Smarden Post Office or the West End House Gallery. For more information call 01233 770182.
