Man charged af­ter house party stab­bing

A 22-year-old Ash­ford man has been charged with at­tempted mur­der af­ter a sus­pected house party stab­bing.

Po­lice were called to the ad­dress in Lake­mead, Sin­gle­ton, at around 6am on Satur­day, June 4.

A man in his 30s sus­tained se­ri­ous in­juries and was fight­ing for his life in a Lon­don hospi­tal.

Of­fi­cers say his con­di­tion is cur­rently de­scribed as sta­ble.

The street was cor­doned off for sev­eral hours and of­fi­cers were seen talk­ing to neigh­bours.

A po­lice spokesman said at the time that a man had been taken to hospi­tal with “in­juries con­sis­tent with a stab­bing”.

Owen Lane, 22, of Im­pe­rial Way, ap­peared at Med­way Mag­is­trates’ Court last Thurs­day charged with at­tempted mur­der.

He has not yet en­tered a plea and has been re­manded in cus­tody.

He is due to ap­pear at Maid­stone Crown Court on Thurs­day, July 7.

A 19-year-old man who was ar­rested the fol­low­ing day is still on po­lice bail un­til July 20.

So­cial me­dia re­ports shortly af­ter­wards said that foren­sics teams were search­ing in the gar­dens for a bread knife, and there were ru­mours the house party was gate­crashed.
