Britain better off staying in the EU

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Points Of View -

If the vote to leave the EU is successful then not only will we be spared the problems of ‘Operation Stack’ – as there will be much less freight travelling to the Continent – but also there will be an upturn in trade for tobacconists and offlicences in this part of the South East because the ‘baccy and booze’ cruises will cease. This, of course, will result in an increase in Customs Officers needed to check incoming travellers to make sure that the old limits on allowable alcohol and tobacco are adhered to.

Personally, I prefer that we stay in Europe. Booze cruises, etc, are a minute consideration compared with the overriding advantages of the current access we have to markets currently. Brian Lawrence Hamstreet
