Riders gear up for circuit around town

-

Cyclists are set to take on a 100mile course around Ashford to raise money for charity.

The Great Kent Bike Ride sets off from North Park in Tannery Lane on Sunday, June 26,with all funds going to the East Kent Hospitals Charity.

For the less hardcore cyclists there is a choice of 35 and 60 mile routes through countryside and coastline.

Live music will be at the finish line – again in North Park – with a beer tent and refreshments for everyone to have a well-earned drink.

Start times for the 100-mile ride are due to be between 7am and 8am and the 35 and 60 mile routes start between 8am and 9am.

Frequent refreshment stations will be placed throughout the route with medics, mechanics and support vehicles on hand.

Last year more than 40,000 people took part in similar events across the country with £1m raised for charity.
