Raft race on Military Canal

The Royal Military Canal in Bonnington will be crowded with craft on Sunday when people take to the water for the biennial raft race.

It starts at about 1pm and will see teams dressed up in funny costumes to raise money for St Rumwold’s church and the Fireman’s Benevolent Society.

Promoter Sally Newall said: “It is a great spectacle in aid of some important local causes.”
