Church celebrates early music
A festival celebrating early music will take place at the Pilgrim Church in Boughton Aluph from Friday, June 17, until Sunday, June 26.
This year’s highlights will include the return of The Sixteen, directed by Harry Christophers CBE, as part of their annual choral pilgrimages to cathedrals and churches around the country.
The opening weekend will see top performances from celebrated vocal ensemble Stile Antico and the first appearance from relatively new ensemble The Marian Consort.
There will be a total of 10 concerts over the two weeks, including performances by Florilegium, The King’s Consort and Da Camera.
Festival director Mark Deller said: “Vocal music again features strongly in this year’s festival programme. It will be a feast indeed and one not to miss.”
