Earmark transport before development

Kentish Express Ashford & District - - Points Of View -

With reference to your recent articles on the Local Plan, I see that Ashford Borough Council has earmarked room for the expansion of the William Harvey Hospital ‘campus’.

Will someone from the council tell us if this means the actual hospital will be expanded – define ‘campus’ please – as there do not seem to be any references to this on the website that I could find.

And, if they have also ‘earmarked’ land to the south of the hospital for 200 houses, which are they ‘earmarking’ to be built first ... houses or hospital?

All this ‘earmarking’ would make more sense if they used their ‘ears’ and ‘marked’ what local people are asking for – improved infrastructure (an essential being the hospital) before cementing over this area of Kent with more and more houses. D. Collins Ashford
