Builder donates £250 to give summer fete a boost
Aldington Primary School’s summer fete on Sunday has received a cash gift from a developer.
Taylor Wimpey South East, which is building homes at its new Lyons Gate development in the village, has donated £250 towards the annual event.
Sandra MacCourt, head teacher at Aldington Primary School, said: “We look forward to hosting our summer fete every year – it’s a fantastic event for the whole village to enjoy and our Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) always do a fabulous job of organising it.
“We’re planning on having lots of fun activities on the day, so donations like this are essential in order for us to keep running the event.
“We’d like to say a big thankyou to Taylor Wimpey for their generous contribution.”
The entertainment on offer at the space-themed fete will include Marli the magician, Invicta Arachnid, space laboratory experiments, kids’ cross- Aldington Primary School pupils are delighted with Taylor Wimpey’s £250 fundraising boost, pictured with sales executive Rajvir Basi and PTFA chairman Julia Everson bows, train rides, tombolas, beat the goalie and face-painting, as well as a barbecue, bar and other refreshments.

This isn’t the first time Taylor Wimpey South East has helped Aldington Primary.
Last October the developer provided 100 high-visibility slap bands to the school to encourage pupils to walk to school and help keep them safe on the journey, as part of national Walk to School Month.
